DayGlance collects no data. Period.
DayGlance ("the app") is a macOS menu bar calendar utility developed by Jesper Sachmann. This policy explains exactly what data DayGlance touches, because the honest answer is: almost none, and none of it ever leaves your Mac.
DayGlance uses Apple's EventKit framework to read the calendars and events you have already configured in macOS (via System Settings > Internet Accounts, or local/iCloud calendars). This is the same system framework used by Apple's own Calendar app. DayGlance requests this access via the standard macOS permission prompt, and you can revoke it at any time in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Calendars.
When you use the optional Quick Add feature to create an event, DayGlance writes that single event to your chosen calendar via EventKit, exactly as if you had typed it into Apple's Calendar app yourself.
DayGlance Pro purchases (yearly subscription or one-time lifetime unlock) are
processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. DayGlance never receives your
name, email, or payment details — it only receives a confirmation from
Apple's StoreKit framework that a given product identifier
(dayglance.pro.yearly or dayglance.pro.lifetime)
has been purchased, which it uses locally to unlock Pro features on your
Mac. Apple's own privacy policy governs the App Store purchase process; see
apple.com/legal/privacy.
DayGlance stores your app preferences (menu bar format, week start day, time
format, selected calendars, launch-at-login state) using standard macOS
UserDefaults, sandboxed to the app on your Mac. This data is
never transmitted anywhere.
DayGlance includes a -demoMode launch flag used for App Store
screenshots and App Review evaluation. In this mode, DayGlance does not
request Calendar access at all and instead displays entirely fictional,
locally-generated sample events. No real calendar data is read or written
while demo mode is active.
DayGlance is a general-audience productivity utility and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information at all.
If DayGlance's data practices ever change (for example, if a future version adds an optional cloud sync feature), this page will be updated and the change will be clearly disclosed in the app's release notes before the update ships.
